In the coming months I'm quite positive you'll see a change in layout, as well as a variety of topics that range from my child, to ugly shoes... and of course my life as an Army Spouse, a Mother and World Traveler. Anything I write about, or question, is NEVER with an intention to judge, almost every question I ask or topic I ponder is to learn, because I honestly DO NOT KNOW and I want to know.
I've decided to put the gifts that God gave me back in action, after... I don't even know how long of them being on the back burner. Sure, I have been blessed to work in the field that I studied in school, but I am not sure anyone is interested in seeing my work from there--if there is anything cool that comes of it however, you'll be the first to know! I may be busy, but I HAVE fit in a few creative things into my daily life. I've enjoyed writing more and more in the past few years and I've recently (within the past year) been dabbling in photography and this is also going to be the outlet for all things of the above nature. I live in the most perfect place to exercise photography practices. If we are going to get paid to live in Europe, we might as well see Europe, am I right?
The title I finally came up with, where does it come from? I'm sure you all know that... you know, The song? I used to sing it to my son when he was a miserable newborn and I had no clue what to do with him at 3 a.m. when his Daddy was away at a month-long of deployment training and I was across an entire ocean away from my family (I still am by the way). Now he's older and easier (mostly), and every day prior to this one, I realize more and more that HE, his Daddy, My friends, my family, the things I do, speak about, and see on a daily basis are my sunshine, they are what keep me going, they are who I'm alive for. I also like to think I'm a bit sunshiney myself, and like to let it display as good as I can like Jesus told us to--and growing where I'm planted is part of that. The sunshine helps things grow, You dig?
Anyway, in keeping with the promised future content listed above, I'm going to make today's topic short and simple and end this entry afterwards. My letter to the buyers for the PX AKA "Post Exchange" where we all can go shopping like we're in 'Merica using dollars.
Dear buyers for the PX's world wide,
We live a place that mostly looks like this:

So when would most of us baby-having, mommy-being, working, hiking, running, frequent traveling, sweat pant and army PT shirt wearing, spouses and/or soldiers, living in the middle of country bumpkin land, EVER find a reason to wear such things as this?

You know maybe if it was my profession to wear exotic clothing and footwear for some crazy photoshoots, I'd have no problem with these. They'd make a lovely addition to any costume or artistic photo idea. You don't really see much of that happening around here because there's not many models here. It's cold. Those look like they hurt. I could be wrong but I am thinking this is why your sale rack in the shoe section is full of these random things. I'm sure I speak for most of the dependants and female soldiers around me when I say please find a different, more practical and still fashionable selection of shoes.
Great Job!
Love,
Your learning-to-be-thrifty, over-thirty, working (and not required to dress up) mother of one, and wife to a non-officer (I'm such a Peon!), who doesn't wear her husband's PT clothes because that's gross... Kristen. :)
GREAT first post! I Lol'ed, you're so cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd, whoa! Those shoes ARE ridiculous, haha. I love it! They look like something someone with super shiney thighs like ham would wear! ;)
Oh goodness why didn't I think of that?! Those would look perfect on Ham Thighs!!! We must tell Carrie!
ReplyDeleteI am excited to follow your blog! I'm sure you will showcase some of your beautiful photography here.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mom! I hope my photography gets more beautiful!
